Thankful

The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy

Psalm 126:3

Two things happened today that have determined the subject of my blog this week.

Firstly, we have been celebrating Christ Church Rwanda's one year anniversary. It was a great celebration! After the usual service we shared food together, had some Rwanda dancers entertaining and speeches from people about the impact CCR has had for them. It was such a good reminder of how far the church has come in the first year. Obviously, I wasn't there from the start, but already it is growing and more people are becoming involved. It really is an exciting place to be and a great much of people to serve God with.

Secondly, I dropped my parents at the airport for them to fly home. We had a great trip last week, literally all the way round Rwanda. There really isn't much they haven't seen! They got to meet a lot of new friends here and understand more about my new life here. It was such a gift to be able to spend time with them. And instead of dwelling on how much i miss out on spending time with them by being here, I am going to be thankful that they bothered to come all the way to visit, that I was able to spend good time with them and that God has blessed me with great parents.

So, back to daily life after my 2 weeks of parent-entertaining. Work is busy, but not too much. Time now to catch up with friends i haven't seen for a couple of weeks. I can honestly say that I don't mind going back to daily life here, it is a good daily life.

(ps photos of the parents in Rwanda will be up soon...internet difficulties currently)
