i'm going to be famous

So, after my usual saturday morning playing tennis and chilling at the pool in Novotel, i rock up for a late lunch with my mate Marissa and in the new Bourbon coffee shop which has opened up here in that last couple of months. However, as i enter, a member of staff asks if i mind signing a waiver as they are filming a commercial in the store today. I think i'll just be in the background so go ahead and sign it.

But then i'm told, along with my mate and another guy, to stand by the roasting machine and be filmed tasting different kinds of Rwandan coffee. Now, i have a complete inability to distinguish one taste from another, and we were meant to be talking about the different tastes while they filmed. All i concluded by the end of the tasting is that they all tasted like coffee and i like coffee. But for the purposes of the advert, I decided on the coffee from the Muhazi region of Rwanda as my favourite.

Now we are filmed (from behind, totally unfair) going over to the merchandise area and being shown the different products they sell. I actually genuinely was interested in getting a brown jumper so i didn't have to act too much. Then we pretended to pay and leave the shop joyful at our purchases.

We also participated in a meeting in their conference room. Topic of discussion was anything for the sake of talking - making slightly bizarre conversation. But we got some free drinks, sandwiches and muffins afterwards - although i was filmed picking up and eating a muffin.

So, i am fully expecting someday to be stopped on a kigali street and asked for autographs as the face of Bourbon coffee...but i won't know when as i don't have a tv.

All i wanted was a quiet lunch with my mate, and now fame could take over my life.

Sounds like fun...especially the picking up and eating a muffin!
